What's New With Our Dogs .....

2005 Highlights

November 25 - 27, 2005  CKOC Show, Moka earned the first 6 points towards her Championship with Winners Bitch, Best of Winners and Best Puppy in Breed wins on both Friday and Sunday.  Dax took Reserve Winners Male and Best Puppy in Breed (over 6 puppies) on Saturday and Wicca took Reserve Winners Bitch on Saturday over 5 bitches and did it again on Sunday!

IT WAS A GREAT WEEKEND FOR OUR PUPPIES!

November 20, 2005  The Australian Shepherd Club of Alberta held a herding instinct test and I entered both Jewel and Wicca for fun (as they both have their HICs already).  Well, they both did amazingly well, but little Wicca, who was a little nervous of the sheep on her first test in August scored higher than her mother!  She was fearless and did great!

November 5-6, 2005  Red Deer and District Kennel and Obedience Club, Jewel earns the first leg of her CDX title (first time in the open ring) in Open A with a High in Class score of 186 under judge Diane Lynas and Wicca passes her CERF exam.

October 8, 2005  Working/Herding Dog Association of Alberta show in Red Deer, Wicca and I enter the conformation ring for the very first time.  She showed really nicely for such a young puppy and she also was awarded Winners Bitch and BEST PUPPY IN BREED!!  It was also a booster for the breed, so Wicca won a ton of great stuff!

October 1, 2005  West Coast Landesgruppe Sieger show in Langley, BC, Wicca and Dax went with 'Grandma' Traci out west for their first sieger show.  Dax placed VP-2 and Wicca placed VP-3 in the 4-6 month puppy classes.  We are very excited for these two puppies ... and us!  They showed well and we couldn't be more happy.  Their critiques are on their pages, and pictures will be added to the site shortly!

August 28, 2005  Prairie Sharks training club held their herding clinic and we gathered quite a group of Rottweilers (and 2 Collies) from Calgary and Edmonton to attend the instinct testing.  Most were puppies, 5 from our own 'Harry Potter' litter and 3 cousins and Auntie Jez from Edmonton.  3 of our own puppies passed the test, including our very own little Wicca, earning their HIC titles just a week before turning 5 months old.  It was a blast, you can see more of these little ones herding on our herding page!

August 21, 2005  Calgary Kennel and Obedience club, Jewel finishes her CDI title with yet another High in Class score of 190.5.  Despite not quite feeling herself over the weekend, she pulled off - way to go!!!

July 30 - 31, 2005  Alberta Kennel Club, and the first time back into the obedience ring after her first litter, Jewel gets the first leg of her CDI title with a High in Class score of 197!!!

The next day, we went into the obedience ring in Novice Intermediate again and again, Jewel goes High in Class with a score of 190.5 for the second leg of her CDI!  I am SOOOO proud of my little girl!

July 2005  It's confirmed; Justice is on the Rottweiler Club of Canada Honour Roll!  Way to Go BIG GUY!!!

June 28, 2005  Daddy to our 'Harry Potter' Litter, Caemon, finished his American Championship with a final 5 point major in Montana!  We are very proud of both Caemon and Traci, who handled him to this great win!

May 28, 2005  Our first litter, born April 2, 2005, are now 8 weeks old and are starting to venture out to their new homes!

May 3, 2005  Our beloved, dear new friend, Murphy, passes away very suddenly.  I was with her at the end, and I know now she is with her Kathy in heaven herding sheep.  Beautiful girl, even in her old age.  We will miss her always.

April 2, 2005 OUR FIRST LITTER ARRIVES.  Jewel whelps 7 healthy girls and 3 healthy boys throughout the night (of course).

March 20, 2005 Murphy arrives at her new home with us.  Auntie Traci and Jackie brought her home from Abbottsford with them after attending a Schutzhund seminar on the island.  We are so pleased to have old Murphy here with us to enjoy a retirement life of leisure!

February 4, 2005  At the Alberta Kennel Club Show, Justice and I entered the obedience ring together for the first time in a year.  Well, his performance was no blazing glory, but we managed to pull off the first leg of his CDI title in Novice Intermediate with a score of 187.

2003/2004 Highlights

December 24, 2004  We were given some bad news today; Justice's breeder, Kathy Cooper, passed away today after a long battle with Cancer.  It is a bittersweet day for us, as Kathy is no longer suffering, and we now await the arrival of one of her beloved dogs, Murphy, who is also Justice's mother.  We will be giving Murphy her new retirement home, as she stayed with Kathy until the end.  We will be honored when she arrives.

July 31 - August 1, 2004  Alberta Kennel Club Show, Jewel is shown only two of the four days.  These were her first two days out as a Special and they were owner/handled.  We are proud to say that Jewel took Best of Opposite Sex both days.  The judges were Luis Pinto Teixeira from Portugal on Saturday and Goran Bodegard on Sunday.  Mr. Teixeira gave me some wonderful compliments on Jewel's conformation and temperament while we were waiting for photos!  I was so proud.

July 24 - 25, 2004 Rottweiler Club of Canada National Specialty in Edmonton, Alberta, Jewel earns her CGN title on Saturday evening doing a wonderful job of showing everyone what a good girl she is!!!  On Sunday at the Specialty, Jewel goes Reserve Winners Bitch over 10 other bitches .... owner/handled!!!  Exciting as that was to take that placement, more exciting than that was doing it under World-renowned breeder/judge Isabelle Nicol of Jacraila Rottweilers in Scotland!!!!  Makes me proud to be Scottish!!!

July 10 - 11, 2004 Evelyn Kenny Kennel and Obedience Club, Jewel goes Winners Bitch on Saturday for two more points beating four other bitches for the win.  On Sunday, she went into the obedience ring first thing in the morning and finished her CD title with a third High in Class placement.  Then onto the conformation ring where Auntie Traci handled her to another Winners Bitch win for another 2 points (beating three bitches) and her Canadian Championship!!!  We are so thrilled and proud of Jewel who has had a lovely summer so far!!

July 2 - 4, 2004  Lakeland Kennel Club in Cold Lake, Alberta; Jewel takes Best of Winners 6 times (unfortunately, for the last three shows, the class male was pulled) to bring home another 3 points towards her Canadian Championship.  She was handled and loved by Charissa Macdonell-Mis and Brian Oreel for this trip and I would like to thank them for taking such good care of her for me!

June 27, 2004  Lethbridge District Kennel and Obedience Club, we went up just for the Sunday and had a really full day.  Jewel was entered in conformation and obedience.  She got reserve winners bitch in conformation and not one, but TWO high in class scores in novice A for her first two legs of her CD title!!  Jewel was a little under the weather too, so I am very proud of what she did out there in Lethbridge for me!

June 13, 2004 Prairie Sharks Working Dog Club held it's annual herding clinic.  The evaluator was Mr. Ron Gale, well known around these parts as being a herding expert.  Jager and Jewel both went into the ring for the first time never having been exposed to sheep before.  They both went in and, with two completely different herding styles, achieved their Herding Instinct Certifications.  I am again, very, very proud of my girls!!!

May 29, 2004 Chinook Schutzhund Club of Alberta, Spring Trial.  Both Justice and Jewel are entered in their first BH trials and both pass their tests to earn their BH titles.  I am very proud of their work as we have practiced hard and were really not sure what to expect going in having never attended a Schutzhund trial before!  I am a proud doggie-mama!!!

July 31, 2003  Alberta Kennel Club show in Calgary, Jewel take Winners Bitch and Best of Winners for thre points beating 9 dogs, one of which was an American Champion male for the placement. And, she was owner handled to the BOW placement!!!

July 4 - 6, 2003 Lethbridge Kennel Club Jewel goes Reserve Winners Bitch both Saturday and Sunday and takes BEST PUPPY IN BREED, beating 3 other puppies, on the Sunday as well!!

May 2003  Justice was awarded the Top Obedience Dog Award 2002 for placing fifth among Rottweilers in points accumulated during obedience trials. We are so excited, we worked so very hard and all of that work really paid off.
