What's New With Our Dogs .....

2006 Highlights

December 3, 2006 CKOC Show here in Calgary, Dax earns another 2 points towards his Canadian Championship leaving him at 5 points (half way there) in just three days of showing this fall.  He did this breeder/handled as well, which was wonderful for me!

November 10, 2006  WAY up in Grande Prairie, Alberta, Dinah and Kash attended the first ever Rottweiler Club of Canada herding trial to try for their HIC and Kash passes with flying colors.  Apparently the tested was very disappointed he was not entered in the actual trial the following day!  WAY TO GO!!!

November 5, 2006  Seeker has her eyes checked by Dr. Grahn at the Red Deer Dog show and she PASSES!!!  We are now awaiting her CERF number.  Daddy to our first litter, Caemon, passes his eye exam as well at the age of almost 7 years!!!

October 7, 2006  Dax is also now CKC pointed earning his first 3 points going Winners Dog and Best of Winners from the Open class at the Working/Herding Show in Red Deer which was also a breed booster, so there were some great prizes for him!  Special thanks to Marina Skoreiko and Michelle Whistlecraft for handling Dax to these points since I had a conflict with Jewel in the obedience ring at the same time!

September 9 - 10, 2006  Edmonton Kennel Club Jewel and I thought it might be a really good idea to get back into the obedience ring before we both forget what we are doing, so we entered into 3 open trials.  Well, Jewel surprised me with 2 qualifying scores (and one trial with just ONE little OOPSY) of 192 and a second in class score of 194.5.  Jewel worked beautifully considering we have not done a whole lot of training since she was bred back in April.

September 2006 Jewel receives an Award of Excellence from the APDT for her scores in rally obedience level 1!  What an awesome surprise!

September 8, 2006 Wicca has ventured off to her new retirement home here in Calgary with her new mom and dad, Barb and Paul Burgess.  Updated pictures to come ....

August 11, 2006 Weekend Kash and Dinah attend a weekend herding clinic in Grande Prairie with some wonderful results.  Kash seems to be a natural herding dog!  Way to go guys!

August 4, 2006  Jewel completes her APDT Rally Obedience Level 1 title at the AKC show here in Calgary with scores of 190 and a third place in trial score of 207!  This was all just 9 WEEKS after whelping her second litter!  My girl is back and ready for action!

July 28, 2006  The puppies are 8 weeks old and venturing off to their new homes.  Click here to see what is in store for them now!

July 22, 2006  2nd Annual Calgary Sieger Show in DeWinton, Alberta, it was a busy Saturday.  Jewel, Wicca, Moka, Dax and Parker all passed their TT titles.  How proud could I possibly be?

Moka, Dax and Parker we also all SG rated at the show by ADRK judge Werner Walter from Germany.  To read their critiques go to our 'Harry Potter' Litter page where you can link to their respective pages!  We have also updated their pages with the pictures from the sieger show!

June 2, 2006  JEWEL WHELPS OUR SECOND LITTER!!!  6 girls and 4 boys! To see them, click here!

May 6, 2006  CADF Annual Heart/Eye Clinic; this was a big day for our 'Harry Potter' Litter as 7 puppies were cardiac tested and 7 puppies cleared so they now have OFA Cardiac Clearance numbers (Visit our 'Harry Potter' litter page to see them)  Not all the puppies had their eyes tested this day, but Moka, Oola, Dax, Kash and Momma Jewel were and they passed their CERF exams.

April 2, 2006  HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY to our 'Harry Potter' litter!  Where has that first year gone???

March 18, 2006  Sit Happens! here in Calgary hosted a APDT Rally Obedience trial and Jewel and I thought it might be a good idea to give it a try for real.

Our first run through was amazing; Jewel earned a score of 205 out of 200 with the completion of the bonus exercise to earn the first leg of her Rally Level 1 title.  We NQd in our second trial, which was entirely my fault (BAD handler), Jewel was awesome!  We are now officially addicted ....

March 10 - 12, 2006  CKOC Show here in Calgary, boy did we have a busy weekend, where to begin?

Friday, Wicca took her first two points going Winners Bitch.  That was exciting getting points on another of Jewel's babies.

Saturday, Wicca took her second 2 point major going Winners Bitch and Best Puppy in Breed.  Saturday evening, I ran both Justice and Wicca through the CGN test and BOTH passed earning their CGN titles.  Jewel also tried her paws at Rally-O for the very first time and did very well considering her fumbling handler!

Sunday, Moka finished her Canadian Championship going Winners Bitch becoming our FIRST homebred champion at the age of 11 months.  She was handled to all of her points by Grandma Traci, helped a little along the way by myself and Pauline Baldwin.

But not to be outdone by her young daughters, Jewel and I entered into the Open B ring for one trial (where she earned a second in class score) and Jewel was just HALF a point shy of a tie (which would have meant a run off) for High in Class and High in Trial!!!  Whatta good girl she was!

February 3 - 5, 2006  Alberta Kennel Club here in Calgary, Jewel finishes her CDX title with another 2 High In Class scores, and her leg on Friday, she was actually the Highest 'A' Scoring dog in that trial and won the money prize for that placement.

On Sunday, Moka took Winner's Bitch, Best of Winners and Best Puppy in Breed for another 3 points, sitting her at 9 and ONE point away from being our first homebred Champion!!!
