What's New With Our Dogs .....

2008 Highlights

November 29, 30, 2008 at the CKOC show in Calgary, on Saturday Brogan went Best of Breed and his little sister Lexi, in her very first show ever, went Reserve Winners Bitch.

November 28, 2008 We just found out today that our Seeker is eligible for induction into the Rottweiler Club of Canada Hall of Fame for 2009!  I guess all the hard work and all of those new titles earned this year have really paid off!

November 23, 2008  Cal-K9 Obedience trials in Calgary - busy weekend for the club as a whole, but especially for those of us who also trialled our dogs!  Jewel earned another UDX leg, making her total 3 for the year (2 more to go now!).  Wicca also earned her second PCD leg!

October 31-November 2, 2008 at the Red Deer dog show, we had a SUPER weekend, and incredibly busy .... in 2 show days, we did 10 trials with 3 of our dogs.  Crazy really.....

Where to start?  Jewel earned the Highest Scoring Rottweiler Champion of Merit (sponsored prize) in Saturday's obedience trial with her 192 from the Open B class.  Missed her UDX leg by a jump again in utility ...sigh.  In rally on Sunday she earned her first RAE leg with a High in Class in Excellent (97) and a Fourth in Class with a 98 (believe it or not!) in Advanced.

Seeker had a 2 title weekend finishing her CD on Saturday with a Third in Class score of 185.5 and for her 'bonus' leg on Sunday, went High in Class with a 190.5.  She also finished her RE on Sunday (94), she earned her second leg on Saturday with a Fourth in Class score of 97.

Ruckus, in all of his glory, finished his RN this weekend.  My handler error lost him 10 points on Saturday and turned his 90 into an 80, but he earned an 89 on Sunday for the title.  Ruckus turns 15 months old this week.  He was certainly amusing to watch I am sure, he was pretty amusing to handle.  I am pretty sure he is spring-loaded after trialling him this weekend.  I would like to also mention here that Ruckus's daddy Vader also started and finished his RN this weekend, also on Sunday and he also earned his CGN ..... way to go Big Daddy and Grandma Marina.

In other news from the weekend, Barb and Wicca finished their RA title with 2 Fourth in Class placements, and also earned their first leg to their PCD.  Super exciting for both of them and for us!

September 28, 2008  Seeker earned her BH title at the German Shepherd Dog Club of Calgary trial just outside of Calgary.

September 12-13, 2008 - Edmonton Kennel Club, Seeker finished her Rally Advanced title with a 95 and the next day earned the first leg of her Rally Excellent title with an 87 (due to a -10 point HANDLER ERROR ...).  And to finish off the weekend in Edmonton, Seeker earned one more leg towards her CD with a 193.5!

Jewel earned another High in Class in Rally Excellent and a second in class the following day!

AND, Ruckus and I thought rally might be fun together too.  So we entered one trial in novice on the Friday and although not polished, at 13 months old he pulled off his first RN leg with a respectable score of 88!

August 22-24, 2008 - Cranbrook, BC; I have a few brags from our trip to Cranbrook, BC last weekend.  We had a fantastic time in the HOT sun, and came away with some great results.

To start, we finished 2 young littermates over the course of the weekend.  Kalli, now formally known as Can. Ch. Mokobreeze Akamai Ladys Secret HIC went Winners Bitch and Best of Opposite sex all 3 days to finish her championship, breeder/owner handled by Cindy Chan.  Brother Brogan, now formally known as VP-4 rated Can. Ch. Akamai N Mokobreeze Giacomo HIC finished his championship on Sunday with a Best of Winners and Best of Breed win with great-grandma Traci Geremia handling him .... it should be noted that all 9 previous points were owner/handled by Lindsay Bauder.  Saturday their littermate, Ruckus, went Best of Winners and Best of Breed for 3 points breeder/owner handled by myself.  This was his only day entered and he showed beautifully for me and Traci in the group ring.  These pups are just over 12 months old!

In the obedience and rally rings we were busy too.  Jewel finished her Rally Excellent title with a 97, and an extra run for good measure on Sunday as well with a high in class score of 94.  Seeker entered the Novice B obedience ring for the first time and came away with her first leg just 1 point off of high in trial and some super comments from the judge, Jeff Lunder.  She also earned her first 2 legs of her Rally Advanced with a perfect 100 (second in class) and a 90.

I would also like to add a brag for the grandpa dog of our new champions, Caemon (Am/Select Can. Ch. Rothburg's Kourage Under Fire ZtP CDX Am. CD DDX RN BH CS CI CGC TT HIC) who at 8.5 years old finished his Rally Novice title and had a blast doing it!

August 17, 2008, here in Calgary, Wicca earns the first leg of her CARO Rally Novice title with a second in class score of 188!

August 5, 2008 - HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY TO OUR 'HORSE POWER' LITTER!  It seems like just yesterday we were sitting here in my living room waiting, waiting and WAITING for you to make your appearance!

August 3-4, 2008 AKC Show in Calgary, this weekend we dedicated it to rally and obedience.  Jewel earned her second UDX leg going high in class in utility, she also earned the first leg of her rally excellent title with a score of 97 and a high in class.  On Monday she earned the second leg of her rally excellent title with another high in class score of 99!  I was so nervous going into the excellent ring for the first time, but Jewel helped me immensely and worked beautifully.

Wicca and Barb finished their rally novice title (RN) on Sunday with a tie for fourth place in a VERY large class.  On Monday, they bumped up to advanced and earned their first rally advanced leg.

Brogan and Digit both showed in conformation and showed beautifully.  These 'Horse Power' boys will surely make their mark as they mature!

July 17, 2008 - It is confirmed:  Jewel has made the Rottweiler Club of Canada's Hall of Fame in 2008!

July 11-13, 2008 The Evelyn Kenny in Calgary, it was quite a busy weekend for our pups.  Jewel finished her rally advanced title with an extra leg (scores of 97, 94 and 95).

Moka earned her CGN title on Saturday, and Moka's son Brogan earned 5 more points towards his championship, sitting him on the dreaded 9.  Ruckus got a good look going reserve both days entered.

July 5-6, 2008 at the Lakeland Kennel Club shows in Cold Lake, Alberta, HUGE HUGE News.

Kalli (MokoBreeze N Akamai Ladys Secret HIC) travelled all the way up north Grandma Marina and her fur daddy Vader for the weekend.  Well, whatta weekend they all had.

With expert handling of Marina and Natasha Taphorn, Vader and Kalli blew them away.  Kalli entered the show ring of her first show there with no points towards her championship .... she came home with 8!  Yes, 8!!!

Daddy Vader came home with 4 Best of Breeds and one Group 2 placement!

June 29, 2008 Sit Happens! in Calgary, Jewel and Seeker ran through 2 trials in APDT Rally Level 1.  Well, it was a really hot day, but the girls did wonderfully for me.  Seeker finished her APDT Rally Level 1 title with a 203 and 193 and Jewel, in her usual style, earned a High in Trial with a perfect 210 and a 207 in the second trial with a second highest score in trial.

June 2, 2008 HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY TO OUR `DREAM LITTER`- where did that time go.

May 24, 2008 Herding Instinct Test in Stettler, AB, 8 of our puppies representing all three of our litters attended and passed their herding instinct evaluations.  Click here to see who was there!

May 17, 2008 In BC, Tessa (out of our 'Dream Litter') and James earned their BH title despite the blazing heat.  I hope to get some pics of this little girl working soon as she is doing fabulous work and could be ready for her SCH1 this fall!

May 10/11, 2008 Medicine Hat Dog Show, Seeker's first 2 days out as a special, she goes Best of Opposite Sex on Sunday next to our 'Horse Power' Litter's daddy, Vader (who, BTW, won the working group on Saturday!!!!).   Ruckus went reserve winners male both Saturday and Sunday as well.

April 27, 2008  Still out in their 5th wheel on 'vacation', Brogan was VP-4 rated in the competitive 6-9 month males class at the Washington Working Rottweiler Club's sieger show.  This was under respected Breeder/Judge Mike Jackman.  We hope to get his critique up once they decide to come home ;o)!

April 11 - 13, 2008, in Chilliwack, BC, Brogan and his owners, while on a vacation in the fifth-wheel, stopped for the weekend to attend the show there and what a weekend they had.  Brogan came away with 3 WD and Best of Opposite Sex wins and 3 more points towards his Championship.  He now has 4 points in 3 show weekends at he is just over 8 months old!  He was owner-handled once again by Lindsay .... way to go guys!

On a special side-note to our Brogan wins, our 'Horse Power' daddy, Vader (Can Ch. Ashemburg's Dark Side TT HIC) in Battleford, SK had 3 Best of Breed wins and his first group 4 placement - his new picture is on the 'Horse Power' Litter's page.

April 4-6, 2008 in Red Deer, we had a super busy weekend with plenty of our fur children.

On Friday, Seeker went Winners Bitch and Best of Opposite Sex for 2 points, sitting her at 8 points.

Saturday was a busy day.  Seeker finished her Canadian Championship going Winners Bitch, followed a few rings over by finishing her Rally Novice title with a score of 97!

Jewel finished her Rally Novice title as well on Saturday with a score of 98.  She also earned her first UDX leg qualifying in both open and utility in the same trial!  Pretty big feat for her having to do 3 trials in one day!

The next day, Jewel earned the first leg of her Rally Advanced title with the only perfect 100 score which also made her High Scoring dog in the Rally Advance B class.

Wicca also came out with her owners Barb and Paul to play in Novice Rally.  Well, she went in and earned the first 2 legs of her RN title with scores of 96 and 88.  Fantastic work - I am so happy to see Wicca doing what I always knew she could (with the guidance of new parents).

Brogan and Kalli were entered in the Junior puppy class with some stiff competition and showed really well handled by their owners Lindsay (Brogan) and Cindy (Kalli).  Ruckus was just entered Sunday and I am just thankful I had pants on by the time we got around the ring with the little fool grabbing at my butt while we were running.

Lastly but of course not least is big boy Dax, who showed like a pro with Grandma Traci at the lead.  It is pretty tough when you are specialling against a 5 year, seasoned, multi-Best in Show male, but he did really well.  We know in time it will all come together with him .....

Special thanks to Traci for handling both Seeker and Dax and showing them wonderfully as always.

April 2, 2008  Happy 3rd Birthday to our 'Harry Potter' litterI can't believe our first babies are 3 years old now.  My how time flies.

March 2008, I am very pleased to announce that Jewel has once again earned a National Ranking Award in APDT Rally in 2007, Canadian Top 20 APDT Rally Achievement Award ranking #12, bettering her 2006 placing by 5!

March 16, 2008, Sit Happens! part 2 in Calgary, Jewel finished off her ADPT Rally Level 2 title with a third and fourth place finish.  She did great, lots of get-up, so I was really pleased with her runs!

March 9, 2008, Sit Happens! here in Calgary, both Seeker and Jewel were entered in one trial of APDT rally level 1, and this was Seeker's first APDT rally trial.  Well, the girls did fabulously; Seeker earned her first leg with a score of 202 AND she was happy and bouncing in the ring which was AMAZING.  Jewel earned the highest 'B' level score in trial with a 207.

February 29 - March 2, 2008 CKOC Show in Calgary was another busy weekend for some of our puppies.  First off on Friday, Seeker went Winner's Bitch and Best of Opposite Sex, and little Kalli went Best Puppy in Breed at her first show.

On Saturday, Seeker went Best of Winners and Best of Opposite Sex, Brogan went Winners Male for his first point as his first show, Reserve Winners Male went to our own Ruckus, and Best Puppy in Breed went to Kalli once again!

Sunday was much the same as Saturday with the boys doing the reverse of eachother, Ruckus earning his first point going Winners Male and Brogan taking Reserve.  Kalli proved once again to be prettier than the boys taking Best Puppy in Breed for a third day.  Seeker brought home another 2 points with Best of Winners and Best of Opposite sex making her point total for the weekend 5!

Lots of picture updates to come!

February 1, 2008, AKC Show here in Calgary.  We have had a busy weekend.  On Friday, Jewel was entered in both open and utility for the first try at a UDX leg.  Well, she did great in open earning a 190.5, but she missed ONE JUMP in her directed jumping in utility to miss it by just a hair.  Dax also went Best of Breed in the conformation ring and did great with Grandma Traci at the lead!

Saturday and Sunday were also great days.  Dax continued on to win Best of Breed both days, making the cut in group on Saturday.  Seeker and Jewel both earned the first 2 legs of their Rally Novice titles.  Seeker's first time in a working arena was pretty good .... more confidence to come .....

January 1, 2008

2007 was a year of ups and downs for us; for our own personal dogs and some that we have produced, we earned:

1 Canadian Championship (Dax)

1 Obedience Trial Championship (Jewel)

1 Companion Dog Obedience title (Kash)

1 Pre-Novice Obedience title (Jester)

2 Canine Good Neighbor titles (Seeker and Jester)

2 Herding Instinct Test Certificates (Seeker and Dax)

1 Temperament Test title (Seeker)

Seeker, Bauer, and Jester are all CKC Championship pointed, Jewel has one leg towards her APDT RL2 title with a high in trial, Seeker prelim'd hips good/elbows normal and has cleared her heart and eyes, and we had 3 puppies from our 'Harry Potter' Litter complete their health testing receiving their CHIC numbers,

We also sadly lost our big man, Justice, in June.  He is missed each and every day by all of us here.

August we welcomed our 'Horse Power' litter, and we have from that our newest prospect, Ruckus.

So 2008 shows a lot of promise of great things for plenty of our dogs.
